The Beginning of a Perfect Day....

Seven o'clock came and all I can here are the pitter patter of little, a LOT of little feet...the kids were so excited that they practically pulled us out of bed by our socks. As we walked half asleep to the living room, I could smell the coffee brewing (in our new coffee pot) and hear the kids talk about how they heard Santa on the roof last night. :) I love seeing the complete excitement of the kids on Christmas morning. There is nothing better...unfortunately for them, I was NOT moving fast enough. LOL!! We started a new silly tradition this year with a pickle...you heard me right, a pickle. Before Kyle and I went to bed last night, we strategically hid a pickle on the tree. The first kid to find it gets to open the first present. It was so fun to watch them relentlessly search...I may have hidden it a little too good. My bad :) And the winner is....KENZIE!!!
Can't wait to hide it again next year!! So the unwrapping began and chaos commenced...here are a few of some priceless moments.
Poor baby! The box was bigger than him :)
Check out the heavy duty tuck tape...he he he!!
Miss Kenzie just toot'n along....
This was the face of a little angel opening her first real Bible.
What do get girls that have way too many toys...Barbies!
She has become my shoe addict...we may have to look into therapy :)
I'm pretty sure he thinks this is what Heaven is like :)
Some great devotionals for us :) Can't wait!
Future Family Night fun :)
There was more unwrapping and more destruction, but we need to get to the long awaited and stressed over Santa gifts. Did he get it right this year?
THE ANTICIPATION IS KILLING ME!!!!!
Time to get shopping :)
His first ever remote control car :)
Exactly what she wanted...Santa is her new best friend :)
Time for some retail therapy :)
I think from the expressions on their faces, Santa did good :) The craziness was minimal this year because we decided that if three gifts was good enough for Jesus, than three gifts was good enough for us. I expected the kids to whine a little, but we have been talking about it for several months now and they were still just as appreciative as usual. So glad we have decided to put the real reason back into the season with our kids. They love their Jesus and were more than excited to get their gifts just like He did. Thank you Kristen for such a great idea!
I could post picture after picture, but I will spare you any more...I am a little partial to my angels. I just love sitting back and watching them. Giving is what it is all about and I could care less if there is anything under that tree for me. We have been so blessed this year and we still have two more stops to make today...right after we go celebrate the birth of our baby Jesus. Oh! And guess what....it's SNOWING!!!!  Merry Christmas!!!

  1. For the record, this is the first year the kids have noticed that we don't give them presents...I blame the 3 present rule! LOL. Looks like Uncle Paul will have to step it up and put out a little more effort next year:)

  2. Ha ha ha!! No, they really weren't upset. They got a lot of money instead of "gifts" this year, so to them, they got a lot less...but they were expecting it...they had a great Christmas and they are already asking when we get to see you guys again :)
